I'm putting together a list of problems with VPC running in Leopard.
One common issue seems to be related to DVD or CD drives. If you are
installing software in Windows, VPC does not recognize the file
format. It's not clear whether it's a DVD, CD drive or both that are
causing the problem. Maybe Leopard is not loading the proper emulated
driver. The workaround is to drag the contents of the disk from the
Mac side to the Windows side and execute from the Windows desktop.
The second problem is running newly installed Windows programs. They
may not run ( they do in Panther and Tiger but not in Leopard). The
workaround for that is to run it in Compatibility Mode.
Is anyone else experiencing any problems? Can anyone confirm the two
problems listed above?

I can confirm the first. Will try installing some new progs and report
back on that. |

Same thing with me... VPC can't read any CD, or DVD.
Quickbooks seems to work fine. |

My only problem so far is that if I copy my Windows98.vpc7 from my 10.4.10
machine to my 10.5 machine when I start the Virtual machine I get an error
that the file format of the .vhd file is not compatible under Leopard. This
evening I'm going to create a Windows 2000 virtual machine and see what
happens then.
So overall for me I can get VPC7 and the 7.03 patch installed but non of the
virtual machines that I copied to the Leopard machine would launch.

I'm also having the same issue. If I make an ISO of the CD it works but
that's an extra step to have to perform.

I haven't found any operational problems yet, but do get a second
application opening in the dock when I open VPC. It's called
VirtualPCNetworking1040.kext. It bounces about looking for attention
when VPC starts up, but there is no window and I cannot open it
manually.
Has anyone else seen this, and does anyone have any ideas what it is
and how do I get rid of it? Or is there something I should be doing?

One additional comment:
I did copy over a vhdp file from Tiger to Leopard and it worked with my newly
installed VPC7.

Good to know that ISO works because I tried DMG and it has the same problem.
So, anyone knows if this is going to be fixed in the upcoming update?

Yes, I got the same thing. I have read other forums reporting this and
there's nothing much we can do about it. It is a little annoying but there's
no apparent issue.

VirtualPCNetworking1040.kext is a script that runs from VPC, not from
Windows. Don't know why it's suddenly showing in Leopard as it is
supposed to run in the background as it does in Panther and Tiger. |

VirtualPCNetworking1040.kext shows up for me too under Leopard. I think
I've seen this under Tiger also.

I too am experiencing the disc recognition problem.
However now when booting up I get the message "NTLDR: Fatal Error 2592
reading BOOT.INI "
and the programme won't start. Any ideas how I can fix this?
