Yesterday I installed SP1 for Vista Business under VPC 2007. Host System is
XP Pro with 3 Gig RAM and the VPC has 768 Meg RAM to it. Besides taking 2
hours to install SP1 the system now boots 3 times slower and is just snail
slow now in VPC. Do I need to install the VPC Additional Programs again?

Vista SP1 is running faster for me both on my host and guests. SP1 is final
and the upgrade packages on MSDN and TechNet are the final. Some folks here
were in the TechBeta and also have the final.

At work we have a MSDN account so it is an official version of SP1. I'll
try Monday applying the Additional Programs first. I don't think it is VPC
directly but by applying SP1 it really did make a noticeable (negative)
difference.

Microsoft recommends at least 1GB RAM for Vista Business:

I won't argue that more RAM would help. I can bump it up to 1 Gig also but
it really did run 3X faster before SP1. It's not a huge deal because it is
a test image but I do use it to test Apps before deployment.

The couple other real Vista machines at work the people using them claimed
not to notice any improvements positive or negative after applying SP1. I
don't use those machines so I can't personally comment on those. If
re-applying the Additions makes no difference I may start from fresh and
immediately install SP1 on the clean install and see what happens then.

If you update your OS, you really need to update/reapply the
Additions.

I re-installed the Additions and bumped the RAM up to 1 Gig. Still snail
slow.
