Vista was released right at the end of 2006, and while MSFT rose (from it's lowest
post-Gates price ever) in anticipation, it fell almost immediately as the market
realized what had been wrought.
The peak last year coincided with the release of Halo3. Make of it what you will.
To claim MSFT "successful" following the ascendency of Ballmer is clearly
disingenuous (being charitable).
