Mac VPC No Longer on MS Site

Anybody else notice that on 01-15-08 after Microsoft updated their Mac
portion of the site that VPC is no longer mentioned except for Corporate
Deployment and the 7.03 Patch. I did searches and all the links on VPC 7
articles I tried were no longer any good. If it's not Mac Office 2008 then
it does not exist anymore on the MS site.

Yes I noticed that a few days ago and just looked again.
The VPC references I see are the VPC Forums and the V7.0.3 + V6.1.1/2
updates.
What is surely gone is the OS 9 stuff, such as the Office 2008 updates,
which I downloaded a few years ago.

So it looks like M$ has trashed OS 9 MS updates "no longer interested"!

Apple support is quite a contrast to MS's. A few days ago I dug through
Apple's site and found driver updates and manuals for two Apple
LaserWriter printers; one of the late 80s and one of the mid 90.

Perhaps we should offer to buy MS a few 200GB HDs for their Mac support.

You downloaded Office *2008* updates "a few years ago"?!?!?
Have you invented a time machine and not told anyone?? ;o)

Apple has deleted much of the old stuff from easily being found on
their website, but it can still be found on their FTP site (or at least
could be when I was looking for something a while back) - you can even
freely download the old versions of the Mac's operating system, System
6, System 7, maybe Mac OS 8 by now.

You caught me too sleepy to post Harry.
Of course I meant Office 98.

Now that we are talking Office, it's probably worthwhile mentioning how
M$ made the decision with Office 2008 not to support VBS.
Many now feel that will kill Mac Office 2008 in many businesses.

Yes 6 and 7 plus updates to 7.5 have been there for years. Very easy to
find, but recently just a bit more difficult. I recommend anyone
thinking of using this oldie Apple software get it sooner rather than
later.
I the years past I've updated many oldie Mac users to 7.5.
I've not seen OS 8 there though.
